Generally good, particularly because of the pool. The air conditioning failed for several days but a reasonable adjustme
Spacious, with a good pool and a lovely aspect over the bay. A nice, bright breakfast room. The local village (Santa Tecla) and local town (Acireale) were both pleasant and thoroughly Italian. Brilliant train service from Acireale to get to Taormina or Catania.
A lot of the site (which is huge) was in disrepair or unused. The drop from the balcony in our upper-floor rear room was fairly terrifying to behold until you got used to it!

What was the highlight of Santa Tecla Palace
A great family hotel with an infinity pool and sea access
We booked this hotel very last minute and we needed 3 double rooms. I have been to Italy many times and the size of these rooms are so much bigger than what I have had previously. I think all rooms have balconies, and some are sea facing. The aircon works really well, which you need if visiting Sicily in the summer months. We used the pool every day which was very well maintained and clean. The hotel also provides pool towels which is very useful if you are trying to travel light. We used the bar for dinks and snacks, the small restaurant for lunch and the main restaurant twice for dinner. The bar was a little over priced in my opinion for cocktails and soft drinks, but the two restaurants were good value for money. The Seafood Spaghetti and Lobster Risotto are delicious. The staff at reception, bar, restaurants and poolside were all very helpful and polite, they did a great job of welcoming us. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet location with access to the sea via a jetty. .
The only two things that could do with improving are the bed mattress; they were way too firm for me and my family. It was the same for the poolside sun-loungers, they too were uncomfortable. You definitely need a car if you are planning to venture outside the hotel as walking is not an option.

Not too far from Catania airport with a great swimming pool
The location was perfect and Acireale a pretty town to explore
Rooms were very dated with a real 1980’s feel to the decor.
